Winter Weather Advisory in New Mexico
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in New Mexico, USA.
A storm system moving east across the region today through Saturday will bring a variety of hazardous winter weather to the state. Valley rain and mountain snow will impact central and western New Mexico through tonight.
Total snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches are expected below 7,500 feet and 3 to 5 inches above 7,500 feet.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Snow levels will fluctuate around 6,000 feet this morning then rise to near 7,500 feet this afternoon before falling to valley floors tonight. Expect difficult travel along higher elevation sections of U.S. 550, 84, and 64, as well as Interstate 40.
The alert area covers Chuska Mountains; Far Northwest Highlands; Jemez Mountains; Northwest Highlands; San Juan Mountains; Southwest Mountains; West Central Mountains; West Central Plateau.
The advisory remains in effect until 6 AM Saturday, 12/08/2018.
