Winter Storm Watch in Western New York
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch in Western New York.
Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches possible in the most persistent lake snows, with greatest amounts expected along the Chautauqua Ridge. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph and cause areas of blowing snow.
The alert area covers Cattaraugus; Chautauqua; Southern Erie; Wyoming.
The watch remains in effect from late tonight through Thursday afternoon.
