Winter Storm Watch in Southeastern South Dakota
The National weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch in Southeastern South Dakota, USA.
Heavy mixed precipitation and winds gusting as high as 60 mph are possible in the forecast area. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, ice accumulations of around a quarter of an inch possible.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Power outages and tree damage are possible due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
The alert area covers Aurora; Beadle; Brule; Charles Mix; Gregory; Jerauld; Kingsbury and Sanborn counties.
The winter storm watch remains in effect from Wednesday morning through Thursday evening, 3/14/2019.
