Winter Storm Watch in Northeastern Colorado
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch in Northeastern Colorado.
Heavy snow and winds gusting as high as 50 mph are possible in the forecast area. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are possible.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Winter driving conditions can be expected. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. The hazardous conditions could impact commutes through the entire warning period. Power lines could be impacted by the persistent moderate to heavy snowfall rates.
The alert area covers Boulder And Jefferson Counties Below 6000 Feet, West Broomfield County; Central and South Weld County; Jefferson and West Douglas Counties Above 6000 Feet, Gilpin, Clear Creek, Northeast Park Counties Below 9000 Feet; Larimer County Below 6000 Feet, Northwest Weld County; North Douglas County Below 6000 Feet, Denver, West Adams and Arapahoe Counties, East Broomfield County.
The winter storm watch remains in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening, 3/13/2019.
