Winter Storm Warning in Western North Carolina
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning in Western North Carolina, USA.
Heavy mixed precipitation are expected in the warned area. Total snow accumulations of 10 to 16 inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch are expected.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
The alert area covers Avery; Buncombe; Burke Mountains; Caldwell Mountains; Henderson; McDowell Mountains; Mitchell; Polk Mountains; Rutherford Mountains; Transylvania and Yancey counties.
The warning is in effect from 7 PM Saturday to noon Monday, 12/10/2018.
