Winter Storm Warning in New Mexico
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning in New Mexico, USA.
Heavy snow and winds gusting as high as 65 mph are expected in the forecast area. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected on elevation below 7,500 feet and 6 to 12 inches above 7,500 feet. Areas above 9,500 feet may pick up as much as 20 inches.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Winter driving conditions can be expected. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. The hazardous conditions could impact commutes through the entire warning period. Power lines could be impacted by the persistent moderate to heavy snowfall rates.
The alert area covers East Slopes Sangre de Cristo Mountains; Upper Rio Grande Valley; West Slopes Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
The warning remains in effect from midnight tonight to midnight Wednesday night, 3/13/2019.
