Winter Storm Warning in New Mexico

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning in New Mexico, USA.
Heavy snow is expected in the forecast area. Total snow accumulations of 1- to 20 inches are expected on elevation above 9,500 feet. Periods of rain are likely later this afternoon and again Tuesday afternoon below 10,000 feet.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Winter driving conditions can be expected. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. The hazardous conditions could impact commutes through the entire warning period. Power lines could be impacted by the persistent moderate to heavy snowfall rates.
The alert area covers Northern Sangre de Cristos above 9500 feet, Red River; San Juan Mountains; Southern Sangre de Cristos above 9500 feet.
The warning remains in effect from 6 AM this morning to 6 PM Tuesday, 3/12/2019.
