Wildfire in Grant County, West Virginia
A wildfire is spreading to over 50 acres in the Monongahela National Forest of West Virginia.
The Grant County 911, Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department and local agencies are trying to contain the fire which is burning in a remote part of Grant County. Firefighters are responding difficult to the wildfire, because the area is full of falling trees, loose rocks and snags. They also are assisted by a helicopter, which is flying over the area and is helping by dropping water and providing emergency medical response.
The officials closed the North Fork Mountain Trail (TR501) to all public entry from the Landis Trail (TR502) to the Redman Run Trail (TR507).
