Widespread flooding through Luna Pier, State of Michigan
According to the city of Luna Pier, evacuations are currently underway due to coastal flooding in the area, specifically the south end of Allen's Cove. Officials are asking residents to stay clear of the emergency area as crews work to keep water levels down. A Lakeshore Flood Advisory went into effect for Monroe County on April 10. The south end of Allen's Cove is currently evacuating as flooding occurs once again with today's Nor'easter. Please remain clear of the emergency area while crews work to keep water levels down and assist residents. The water has dropped below flood stage and we are pumping out the last of the water in Allen's Cove. Residents are clear to return but we are allowing residents only. The cleanup begins now as it seems the worst is over.
