Severe thunderstorms to hit SE of Queensland, Australia
FINAL UPDATE: There are no more weather warnings issued for Queensland.
UPDATE 2: Another severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the Northeast of Chinchilla. Large hailstones and powerful gusts of wind are likely.
UPDATE 1: A second storm warning is now in place. 300 homes in the Scenic Rim region are without power.
Very dangerous thunderstorms are about to hit the south-east area of Queensland, Australia, bringing forth destructive 90 km/h winds and large hail.
Forecasts predict supercell storms, that may produce hail as large as 5 centimetres.
Not only south-eastern Queensland, but parts of New South Wales may be hit by the storms as well.
Affected areas: Brisbane, Warwick, Allora, Clifton, Cherbourg, Kingaroy, Dalby, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Beaudesert, Jandowae, Rathdowney, Nerang, Southport, Mount Tamborine, Laidley, Mulgowie, Grandchester, Rosewood
