Flash Flood Warning in North Carolina
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Alleghany, Ashe, Wilkes Counties, North Carolina, USA.
Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen since yesterday . The additional rainfall moving through currently is associated with the outer circulation of Tropical Storm Michael. The rainfall will increase in intensity and coverage through the morning and persist for an extended period of time.
Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly as rainfall increases across the county during the next few hours.
Some locations that will experience flooding include, North Wilkesboro, Wilkesboro, Sparta, Jefferson, and West Jefferson.
The warning remains in effect until 1 PM, this afternoon.
