Flash Flood Warning for Lenoir and Duplin Counties
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Lenoir and Duplin Counties, North Carolina.
Doppler radar indicated heavy rain falling across the warned area from rain bands associated with Hurricane Florence. 2 to 4 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly, and extreme rainfall rates are expected over the next several hours as Florence crawls west. Additional rainfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches are expected through the rest of the morning.
Some locations that will experience flooding includes: Kinston, Wallace, Warsaw, La Grange, Mount Olive, Grifton, Kornegay, Rose Hill, Beulaville, Deep Run, Bowdens, Cypress Creek, Beautancus, Kenansville, Chinquapin, Dawson, Potters Hill, Graingers, Institute and Albertson.
The warning remains in effect until noon, today
