Coastal Flood Advisory in Texas
The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in Texas, USA.
Long period swells continue to impact the Middle Texas Coast resulting in dangerous rip currents and moderate Coastal flooding.
Long period swells will gradually decrease late tonight into Friday, however astronomical high tide may continue minor coastal flooding beyond today and tonight.
Water levels are expected to range between 2.0 feet and 2.5 feet above mean sea level during high tide later this afternoon and evening. In addition, long period swells will cause significant wave run-up. The next high tides at Port Aransas will occur at 656 PM this evening. The next high tides at Port O`Connor will occur around 1134 PM late tonight.
Beaches at the Padre Island National Seashore will be closed until the waters recede.
The alert area covers Coastal Aransas; Coastal Calhoun; Coastal Kleberg; Coastal Nueces; Coastal Refugio; Coastal San Patricio.
The advisory remains in effect until Friday morning.
