Blowing Snow Advisory for Newfoundland
Environment Canada has issued a Blowing Snow Advisory for Newfoundland.
Snow and strong southeasterly winds will develop later this morning, and combine to give reduced visibility in blowing snow. Conditions will improve this afternoon when temperatures rise above zero and precipitation changes to rain.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Winter driving conditions can be expected. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. The hazardous conditions could impact commutes through the entire warning period. Power lines could be impacted by the persistent moderate to heavy snowfall rates.
The alert area covers Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity; Corner Brook and vicinity; Deer Lake - Humber Valley; Gros Morne; Bay St. George; Buchans and the interior and Green Bay - White Bay.
